BRAEBURN'S MY MARIA SONGFIC

Our songfic opens up in Ponyville where a stage has been set up in the town square, where a lot of ponies have gathered. Mayor Mare can be seen onstage addressing the crowd.

MAYOR MARE: Attention, everypony!

Everypony hushes and faces the Mayor.

MAYOR MARE: Thank you. Our own Applejack has a very special announcement to make.

Everypony applauds as Applejack makes her way onstage.

APPLEJACK: Thanks, Mayor. (to the audience) Howdy, y'all!

ALL: Howdy, Applejack!

APPLEJACK: I'm mighty glad you're all here, because I have a wonderful surprise for y'all!

APPLEJACK: Yep! Here to make his big musical debut in all of Equestria is one of my closest and most favorite relatives! I'm talkin' 'bout my cousin from Appleoosa, Braeburn!

Everypony cheers as Braeburn makes his way onstage.

The curtain opens to reveal a country band who proceeds to play Brooks and Dunn's "My Maria" as Big Macintosh and Shining Armor join Braeburn to provide backup vocals.

Everypony bursts into wild cheers and applause as Braeburn, Big Mac, Shining Armor, and the band finish performing. Braeburn, Big Mac, Shining Armor, and the band all take a deep bow, and Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith all rush onstage to congratulate them.

APPLEJACK: Yeehaw! (hugs Braeburn) Braeburn, you really nailed that thing!

BRAEBURN: (spoken) Hey, 'tain't no thing, cuz!

APPLE BLOOM: That was amazing, Braeburn!

BRAEBURN: Why, thanks, li'l Apple Bloom, and I see you got your cutie mark!

Braeburn pats Apple Bloom on the head, making her giggle.

APPLE BLOOM: Oh, it was worth waitin' for!

GRANNY SMITH: I don't think I coulda ever heard a finer performance back in my day!

BRAEBURN: Well, at least you got to hear it today, Granny!

Granny Smith giggles.

APPLEJACK: (to Big Mac) And you didn't do too bad yourself singin' backup, big bro!

BIG MAC: (spoken) Nnope!

APPLEJACK: And Shining Armor, thanks for comin' along to help out!

SHINING ARMOR: (chuckles; spoken) Anytime, Applejack!

APPLEJACK: By the way, how's the baby comin' along?

SHINING ARMOR: Oh, it's still got a way to go, but Cadance and I know our foal will be worth the wait!

APPLEJACK: Oh, I can definitely believe that!

Applejack, Apple Bloom, Granny Smith, Braeburn, Big Mac, and Shining Armor all share a warm laugh as the songfic draws to a close.
